The meeting was called to order by President Bill McCullam at 2:05 p.m. at the West Shore Unitarian Church in Rocky River. Printed copies of the minutes were made available to members. A motion passed to dispense with the reading of the minutes.
Don Stimpert distributed Income and Expense and Net Worth statements and answered questions about them. Don Stimpert talked about the Price Survey on the CMS website and asked for volunteers to contact selected Funeral Directors to request updated General Price Lists.
On behalf of the nominating committee (Jackie Stimpert, Cheryl Hanger, and Kathleen Binnig) Jackie Stimpert presented a slate for election to the Board of Trustees. President – Bill McCullam, Vice President – Jane McCullam, Secretary – Mark Binnig, Treasurer – Don Stimpert, Trustees-at-large for three-year terms expiring in 2018 – Roger Peckinpaugh and Mike Varble. Jackie noted that our Constitution allows up to nine trustees-at-large to serve and asked for nominations from the floor. There were none. The slate passed unanimously. Trustees continuing in office are Linda Betzer (2017), Martha Manring (2017), Maureen Kundtz (2017) and Wanda Sims (2016).
The meeting was adjourned at 2:17.
Maureen Kundtz introduced Lisa Tomm from the Hospice of the Western Reserve. She spoke briefly about the need for advance directives and conversations with your family about them.
Bill McCullam introduced Lisa Vigil Schattinger from Ohio End of Life Options. She spoke briefly about this incipient organization and asked for volunteers to help with their effort to work for right to die legislation in Ohio.
Bill introduced our keynote speaker, David Mitchell, Cemetery Manager for the twelve cemeteries operated by the City of Cleveland.

We get the chance to meet many of you briefly at our annual meeting, but your board also meets quarterly, on the fourth Tuesday of January, April, and July at 7PM at the First Unitarian Church of Cleveland. We welcome all members to join us. Kate Smith has been appointed to replace Mike Varble as trustee. Her term will expire in 2018.
