The next time someone asks you what the Cleveland Memorial Society is, tell them the Cleveland Memorial Society is a non-sectarian, non-profit group of diverse people who unite in the belief that there should be choice and pre-planning in funeral and memorial arrangements. We believe that simple, dignified and inexpensive cremation or burial is usually preferable to the elaborate and costly funerals that are often purchased by distraught survivors who are at their lowest moments. The Memorial Society contracts with selected funeral directors to provide basic services at a reduced cost. Our members decide what type of arrangements they would like and put their wishes in writing in order to spare their loved ones from making those difficult decisions. The Memorial Society also encourages members to plan ahead by executing a living will, powers of attorney, and body and organ donations. We are part of a national consumers advocacy group which lobbies for full disclosure and fair dealing in the funeral industry. The Cleveland Memorial Society acts as a clearinghouse for funeral information you can trust.
